New Beginnings for KOKO

Hale o ka Piko broke ground on 4/3/26.

With deep gratitude and aloha, we gathered in Waimea Nui to break ground for Hale o ka Piko, KOKO's new clinic.

Through an ʻawa ceremony, kanikapila, and of course, ono mea ʻai—we honored our kūpuna while building for the next generation.

A truly monumental day for our lāhui and community—one rooted in ʻike, aloha, and pilina.

KOKO will be providing a first aid station to support Malama Makali’i!

WHEN: Sat. February 28, 2026 from 10am - 4pm

WHERE: Kawaihae Canoe Club

WHY: The goal of our event, Mālama Makaliʻi Ocean Festival, is to celebrate Makaliʻi's birthday of 31 years. We aim to bring awareness about our ocean environment and in turn our overall well-being.  This event will increase awareness of mālama ʻāina concepts, responsible stewardship and strengthen partnerships and support networks of Makaliʻi and moku o Hawaiʻi.
