Sokchear Sous-Figueroa brings over 17 years of experience in psychiatric care and public health. She is a graduate of the UCSF School of Nursing and is board-certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Public Health Nurse.
Since 2009, her work has focused on the intersection of trauma and community wellness, beginning with serving refugee and Southeast Asian populations. Her diverse experience includes inpatient substance use treatment, crisis intervention, and forensic mental health within the treatment court system.
Combining her advanced nursing training with a strong understanding of public health disparities, Sokchear is committed to providing holistic, culturally responsive care that empowers Big Island residents to achieve lasting stability and well-being.
